Interdisciplinary project is an integral part of our school curriculum. keeping this in mind the search for an interesting theme began, and finally the hunt culminating by freezing the theme as PEACE……Thus the journey began. Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means……and as the definition states Peace is freedom from disturbance.
The entire school from grade I to X geared up for the project. Sessions were conducted for the learners to brief about the topic, lot of research was done by the learners and the teachers. Every aspect of the topic was covered. The interdisciplinary approach -- all subject under one umbrella of PEACE. From English to Hindi ,ideas flowing from Social Sciences to Science engulfing Mathematics. Poems were composed on peace, posters were made slogans were scribbled and essays were written. Work of Noble prize laureates for peace was presented. Thoughts of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Mother Theresa etc. were enacted. The statistical calculation of nuclear disaster and the need for peace was forcefully put across. The timeline of various peace treaties came alive. A step further Songs were composed and sung, dance of peace was performed, a number of artistic drawings and collage work on peace was put up. The movement was from outer peace to moving inwards and finding inner peace through yoga. The entire school was driven by one idea PEACE. Learners put all this together on the final culmination day 13th Oct 2017 and the PEACE PROJECT came live at RBK GLOBAL SCHOOL. Parents were invited to witness the work of the Learners, The Peace ambassadors welcomed parents with a quote on peace…….Learners explained to their Parents all that was put up. In the entire process, not only academic learning took place but it helped in inculcation of number of values in the learners. To list a few, working in team, led to team work, tolerance towards each other. Helpfulness nurturing healthy competition, also helped to improve their communicative skills, inter personal relationship, helped in building up their confidence and mastery over the content. Parents were happy to see their children’s work. Children’s DayChildren’s Day is to celebrate “Childhood”. Children are loved by one and all. They win our hearts with their innocent smiles.This special day was celebrated amidst fun and frolic at RBK Global School.The programme began with prayer, dance and tributes to Chacha Nehru. Various activities and events were organized and performed by teachers.All the learners were dressed up in vibrant yellow which made them look like little sunflowers.Teachers sang, danced and enacted onstage to make the morning memorable.As the proverb says, “Today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens of the Country”,a few insightful lines were addressed to the learners about their special role in the society.They were told that this is a day to remember a leader who, in his quiet but determined way laid the foundation to convert a nascent nation into a world power. The day ended on a spirited note as the learners enjoyed their inhouse school snacks amidst peppy music in their own classrooms.

RBK Global school organized a picnic for learners of grade 1 ,2 and 3 and were taken to ‘Funshalla and Byculla zoo. The adventure team's buses, fully packed with students and teachers headed for Byculla Zoo. The students were extremely excited to reach the destination. All the students kept singing songs in the bus till they reached the venue. Students were served soft drinks followed with breakfast of vegetable sandwiches on their way to venue. The first stop was visit to humboldt penguins in Byculla zoo which both students and teachers enjoyed a lot. The next stop was Funshalla which was like a fun paradise for the kids.All students enjoyed with great energy as well as skill to participate in all the fun zones over there. Even the teachers could not resist the luring temptation of the fun zones. . After tiring and fun packed moments all headed for lunch. The dining hall, filled with the fragrance of food triggered hunger and all relished multi-cuisine food. Later the students were allowed to play in the park. The most attractive part of the picnic was the happiness and feeling of enjoyment which was very much evident on faces of all the learners.They gave amazing poses and shots for the snaps which shown their happiness. The parents had already been waiting for their children. Everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had had a great fun. The children arrived at school, dressed in yellow clothes and were full of excitement . The children were completely immersed when they watched the preparations done for them to make them happy. The children were shown a short animation movies after which they were taken to participate in fun and nteresting games organised by our enthusiastic teachers. The children were thrilled to get star and smiley rewards arranged for them. There was excitement in the air and the young ones were full of stories about their special day at school. The students enjoyed the mini - fair with activities like games (ring the object), knock the bottles, tattoo art, tic tac to, puppet show and the DJ zone where kids shaked themselves on the dance floor.The students were then treated to yummy snacks, served with oodles of love. |
