Krishna Janmashtami (Lord Krishna''s Birth day) is also known as Krishnashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Srikrishna Jayanti, Sree Jayanti. Celebrated on the eighth day of Savana month, Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Lord Krishna is an embodiment of playfulness, innocence, wit and charm that is beautifully associated with childhood. It is therefore seen that his birthday is observed and celebrated with great pomp and splendor all across the world. RBK Global School also celebrated the occasion of Janmashtami where students dressed up as little Radhas and Krishnas in Indian attire and finery. Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great zeal and pomp by the children of RBK Global School. A cradle decked up with flowers with Bal Gopal was the centre of attraction. Students of primary wing flaunted their talent through flute colouring, matki (pot) decoration activities. Entire area was decorated colourfully with Jhankis depicting the birthof Lord Krishna and Krishna Jhoola. A special assembly was conducted to mark the birth of the deity. Children celebrated the occasion by singing and dancing with great joy. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event more cheerful and colourful. Children danced on the tunes of songs praising lord rishna and his acts. A Dahi handi’ event was also organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’. The involvement of the children in the celebrations at such a tender age was worth applauding. This festival taught them to be friendly and also the value of sharing. It was a memorable day for one and all.
